without demur/平穏無事

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt:“Bone of Contention.”

 

Having own opinion,

In the culture of no contention,

A misfit was confused.

As a façade,

Trained to be unemotional,

Rewarded to be reticent,

Never to contend.

Question was and still is,

Can voicing own thoughts cause tumults?

 

感情や自分の考えをやたらと現すなと、

小さい頃から言われて育った。

無表情で、思いは内に秘めておくのが美徳だと教わった。

討論など、問題外。

なのに、自分の中にはしっかり疑問が起こる。

本は、多くのことを教えてくれた。

今では、インターネットなどでいろんな情報が入るから、

教えられる事も、考える事も多いかな。
