the game of life

Love:  Let’s play a game.

Insecure:  But, what if I lose. I’d be devastated…

Ferocity:  Shut up! Stop whining.

Ego:  I am not playing games.

Love:  Oh, come on. It’ll be fun! Making plans, taking risks, learning logic…

Ferocity:  Just do it already.

Insecure:  Wait, wait… what are we playing?

Love:  How about the game of life?

Ego:  Eww.

Love:  Then, what would you like to play?

Ego:  Fine, fine, life it is.

Love:  I’ll be the banker.

Ego:  Why you?

Love:  Do you want to do it?

Ego:  No.

Love:  Well, does anybody else want to do it?

Insecure:  I don’t know… I don’t think I can…

Ferocity:  Can we just get on with it!?

Love:  Alright, then. Who wants to start a career?IMG_0573 crtn

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “The Perfect Game.”
“You’re set to play poker (or Scrabble or something else . . .) with a group of four. Write a story set during this game. Or, describe the ideal match: the players, the relationships — and the hidden rivalries.”

  1. I love how Love is so full of adventure and fun! This is an excellent description of a person’s mind (or a marriage, depending upon your point of view :p). ❤ Very nice
