Bang! Bang! Bang!
“We’re closed for the holidays!” Liz yelled back at the door.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
“We’re closed! Come again!” Liz stored the money that she was counting inside the safe behind the kitchen.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
“What do you want?” Frustrated, Liz peeked through the window. All she could see was a pile of half-melted snow at dusk.
She walked to the door, opened it slowly and closed it after looking around briefly to make sure there was no one.
The cold air blew inside and made Liz shiver. She quickly collected the papers and hurried to the kitchen.
“Hi, Liz.”
The familiar voice greeted her.
“Johnny…?”
“I don’t mean to scare you. I just came to pick up something to eat and am on my way.”
“But … but, you’re…”
“Dead. I know.”
At that, Johnny was gone, again.
