confusion

I grew up surrounded by love, unconditional love. I never doubt if my family would be there for me.
Because they loved me so, my parents raised me to conform to the society’s norms. That way, they thought, I would lead a happy life.

My husband despised anyone trying to fit in and respected the ones that follow their hearts.
He dared me to be true to myself, to be different and loved the twisted, quirky, crazy me.

Now, I’m on my own and not sure what to do, what to be, or where to look. I feel as if a part of me is left somewhere in the past. Uncertainty brings an infusion of confusion to the air I breathe.
Oh well, I just pretend to be this weird middle-aged Asian woman who lives with two vicious dogs in the jungle … for now.

  1. I’m enjoying the writing of the ‘weird middle-aged Asian woman who lives with two vicious dogs in the jungle”. Great post nelkumi – i think that most of us continue to wonder about the path that we have chosen/found ourselves on… enjoy it while we can I guess 🙂

  2. Nelkumi, I have just taken out three months from blogging to finish an autobiographical novel. I wrote the last words today. Thanks for being one of my muses. I have only covered the first 31 years of my very unusual life, but living in the past as you do has brought me very close to you. Please don’t be lonely, you have so many people who share your world. Thanks again. Anton.
