In the backseat of the limousine, he checks his phone. Another deal settled, and money will be transferred. He only deals with cryptocurrency and hasn’t seen paper money for years.

He loosens his silk tie, sits back in the leather seat, and looks out the window. The hazy sky reminds him of the day so long ago when he, a child in worn-out clothes, ran away with the crumpled five-dollar bill in his pocket. He trusted no one then.

His limo cruises along the highway, heading to his empty penthouse apartment.
