You end up living in the jungle with two anti-social dogs. Now, what do you do?
You start blogging. A Perfect thing to do.
I have time, a quiet place to hide and problems to talk about.
All I need is…TALENT!?!?
自分で決心して無職になって、blogを始めました。拙い物ばかりですが、か(描・書)きながら、自分の生活を整頓していけるかな、と思っています。よろしくお願いします。
I started my blog when I became willingly unemployed. I write what my head mumbles and draw what my soul rumbles, and my iPhone captures a jumble of images.
I haven’t figured what I am doing yet (will I ever?) and remain in limbo.
Thank you for visiting.
‘So, You ended up living in Jungle with two anti-social dogs… Now, what do you do?’

Thank you for sharing Nelkumi-san. I look forward to visiting here from time to time. Your writing in English is beautiful. I wish I could appreciate it all in Nihongo. Do you write first in Japanese then translate to English?

I think my brain uses different parts. I think and speak(write) in one language and then in other. I am not smart enough. My husband used to say that I have two personalities. One ornery American with attitude and other profusely-apologizing Japanese…

I just realized that the English and Japanese parts of your posts aren’t the same. What you say makes perfect sense. I have a Japanese friend who also married an American. She’s the same way. It’s interesting, when she speaks English, she’s direct and forceful and kinda swears a lot. When she switches to Japanese her voice becomes softer and… as you say, more apologetic? I don’t think it has anything to do with being smart. Just speaking and writing in (at least) two languages fluently indicates that you’re quite intelligent. 🙂

As I have hinted in other comments I too lost a lovely spouse.she was Vietnamese and not just totally lovable but also very naturally polite.tragically she was killed just 13 months after we married, shot in a street gunfight but nobody ever found out which side killed her.that was in august 1970, the third of my four years in vietnam as a war correspondent. the only way I got through that was having the beautiful daughter she gave me and I brought back to europe (mostly UK & france). she married a frenchman and I have 2 french grandchildren. I married my 2nd wife in1976; we have a son and are very happy, but she always understands what I felt for my 1st wife, Anh. if you read my post yesterday, ODE TO MY WIFE, see if you can guess who it is about 🙂 thanks for inspiring these memories’ it helps a lot. Anton.

Hi Nelkumi, I’ve nominated you for the liebster award. Please check the link https://normashilpi.wordpress.com/?p=1967&preview=true. I would be delighted if you could accept the award but due to time constraints if you choose not to then also it’s perfectly understandable.

Hello, nelkumi, as you can see in the link below, I have been nominated in a challenge to post my three favourite quotes, one each for three consecutive days. With each post I have to nominate three bloggers for the challenge (I cut that to three overall). It is not required to accept but I’ll be happy if you do. 🙂 If you accept, you have to recognize the blogger who nominated you and pass the challenge on. I have nominated you as I love your blog and for reasons stated in the post. I hope you don’t mind and hope you have fun with it.
Ciao

Hi there! I just found your site thanks to The Daily Post. I really like your stuff and wanted to share this quote, that I was sent, with you. “Oscar Wilde said that if you know what you want to be, then you inevitably become it – that is your punishment, but if you never know, then you can be anything. There is a truth to that. We are not nouns, we are verbs. I am not a thing – an actor, a writer – I am a person who does things – I write, I act – and I never know what I am going to do next. I think you can be imprisoned if you think of yourself as a noun.”

Hi nelkumi 🙂 quite a while ago you had a post titled ‘By myself’ and it was accompanied by a charming sketch of a person sitting on a seaside (?) watching either the moon or sun, rising or setting. I have thought about that drawing ever since and love the emotion contained within it. I have just finished writing a poem about time and getting older and would love to use your sketch to go alongside my poem on my blog (andysmerdon.wordpress.com). If you like I can email you the poem first before you say yes or no. Thanks for considering nelkumi and thanks for keeping me entertained these last few years 🙂 Kind regards, Andy – andy.smerdon@gmail.com
