In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Intricate.”
When was the last time I did something outside my comfort zone?
A few days ago.
I went out of this house and to town. I literally went out of my boundary. Not of morality, but the emotional and physical boundary.
You see, I mostly hide myself in the jungle, within 2.5 acres of my property. I hear my neighbors and traffic so I know they are there, but don’t see them. It is my safe place.
But, I forced myself out the other day. I went to the group bereavement counseling and did some grocery shopping. It was good that I did it, and I will do it again.
It might be hard to believe, but I am a spontaneous individual and have done things odd and scary in the past. As a result, I am where I am today. I have been a recluse since I left my last job, and close friends left town. I write and doodle a lot now, which I enjoy.
As for doing things new and out of my element, I think I am doing it every day. New and unfamiliar situations are intricately woven into each day, and I have no choice but push myself to go beyond the limit.

“When was the last time you did something completely new and out of your element? How was it? Will you do it again?”
